jazz age lawn party

the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island is one of my favorite summer outings, because it involves theme dressing, a ferry ride, and yummy food. laura (aka the new age of innocence) & i share a passion for all three of these things, which is why she was the perfect companion for this adventure.

both of us took modern approaches to the 20s theme, which made dancing to the Dreamland Orchestra on a crowded dance floor a little bit easier. we also drank St. Germaine cocktails, ate ice cream & popcorn, & ooooo'd at lots of great outfits. the highlight, however, was the island itself. and getting to stroll through the buildings and art installations on a beautiful summer day. 

hello! i'm michelle & i'm a brooklyn gal who enjoys dressing up, exploring new places, eating yummy things & finding adventure wherever i go. about a month ago i left my full-time gig as a visual merchandiser & leaped head first into life as a creative freelancer / lady of many hats.

when i began to think about what i wanted my new career / lifestyle to be, i knew that doing things i was passionate about & having lots of fun were two very important pieces to the puzzle. making time to visit friends, try new recipes, make messes, take photos, meet new people & (above all) learn new things were all on the agenda.
